May and June are among the important months for those who have finished SPM. This is because university intake is around May and June. I am sure all of you are so excited to enter a new phase in your life. However, you might have some worries about the life in university. Do not be too worry. I will share tips on how to survive in university.
All the tips will be based on my experiences and other people experiences. So, let's check it out.
Find a good friend
In university, it is important to find a good and quality friend. This is because you are far away from your family and your family in university are your friends. Find someone that can guide you to the correct path. You need someone that can give help and moral support to you. You will enjoy your university life if you have friend that can spend their time to listen to your problem and do something that can make you happy. Going out with friend on weekend or after examination is one way for you to release your stress. Make sure you do not being influence with someone that involve in negative activity such as smoking, drinking and skipping classes.
Build a good relationship with lecturers
Any assessment in university is done by your own lecturers. Therefore, it is crucial to maintain a good relationship with them. For example, choose a lecturer that you think that you can work well with as the supervisor for your final year project (FYP). Do not feel hesitate to meet your lecturers if you have any problem in your study. You may go to their office and ask them about the topics that you do not understand.
Always try to learn new skills
In order to compete with others in your study and future career, you need to improve your technical skills and soft skills. Do not just depend on the knowledge being taught in the class. It may not enough to help you in completing your assignment. You may use available sources such as Google and YouTube to enhance your knowledge and understanding.
Think wisely before spend money
Studying in university is not only involve payment of tuition fees. You need to use a lot of money for others also. For instance, you need to print out your assignment, go to certain place to complete your assignment and pay your accommodation. Some of the program such as short courses, competition and field trip required you to pay, so you should have some saving if you are interested to join them.
Manage your time wisely
You will feel that you do not have enough time as you are moving from foundation/diploma to final year degree student. If you want to be active in extracurricular activities but at the same time you want to pass your examination with flying colours, your time management is really important. You might have lesser time for your hobby and you are struggling to find time to sleep and rest. You need to make sure that you are able to submit your work on time.
Take good care of your health
Health is something that you cannot buy and replace. Commitment as a student may cause you to feel stress, not enough rest and do not eat properly. However, try your best to maintain a good health. Do not put too much pressure on yourself until you ignore your health.
