Jonker Street, Melaka

Jonker Street, also called as Jonker Walk is one of the must visit places in Melaka. There are many shops that sell food, souvenir, clothes et cetera.  The place is very crowded with people and cars. From Friday  to Sunday, there is night market and the road is closed for vehicles.

It is a good place to visit if you want to try Melaka food but for the Muslims make sure you check the halal status first because most of the shops are owned by non-Muslims.  You can just Google to obtain the information from any blog or website.

Since the place is so crowded, make sure you take care of your safety and belongings. Hold your handbag properly and keep your valuable things such as mobile phone and wallet at safe place. If you bring small kids, hold their hand and make sure they always walk with you.

For those who plan to go during the day, be prepare with hot weather. Probably you want to bring drinking water to prevent dehydration.

One of the popular food is durian puff. For durian lovers, it is recommended for you. Although it is quite expensive, but it is worth to try. Your visit to Jonker Street is not complete without trying the durian puff. The taste is very nice and it is better for you to buy one box and share the money rather than buy one piece only. Make sure you eat it via one bite only to avoid the durian puree from leaking out. Another way is to bite a bit to make a small hole on the durian puff and eat the puree first so that it will not leak out.

    1. Haah, memang sangat crowded terutamanya masa pasar malam. Kalau waktu siang dan hari bekerja, kurang sikit orang berbanding waktu cuti.
